Must-Have Swimwear: Bikini Ruffles and Frills

Don’t let the latest swimwear trend get your feathers all in a ruffle… because this season, romantic ruffles and soft frills are what’s hot!

We think this pink ruffled bikini inspiration from Aqua Bendida is simply fabulous.

The colorful ruffles work wonders on this model and have the effect of adding a extra little volume in the bust area. So if you need a little boost in the bust area, ruffles are the way to go!

You can wear bikini top ruffles or skirt around and sport frilly ruffles below the belt like some of Cyn and Luca’s fun pieces.

It doesn’t matter where you wear it, ruffles and frills are the “it” fashion statement right now in swimwear.

And we can see why — they’re fun, flouncy and feminine! You can easily get this look on the beach. Just find a bikini with some fabulous ruffle detail and wear it on your next getaway cruise vacation.

Salinas Sets the trend for 2009

When it comes to cutting-edge, high-fashion swimwear with a playful twist, fashionistas and celebrities alike count on Salinas for the hottest swimwear designs in the industry.

This summer at the Miami Swimwear Show in July, we got a bird’s eye view of Salina’s stylish swimsuit fashions that likely set the trend here in sexy South Beach and at other metropolitan beach destinations around the globe.

We’re excited about the Salinas 2009 Collection! The brand has gotten back to a theme of youthful, bright prints with a lot of detail. The feel is young yet Sophisticated at the same time.

While incorporating new elements, Salinas stays true to their signature styles — creating hip, mismatchy and in-the-moment suits that embody the perfect blend of upscale chicness.

Swimwear Trend for 2009: Romantic Ruffles

Ruffles and frill-inspired bikinis are making big waves in swimwear for 2009. Our Swimwear Team saw models sporting everything ruffled from Triangle tops to bandeaus, and frilly skiritinis at the Miami Swim Show.

We saw lots of ruffles and frills peeking out whenever and wherever they could and we expect them to make headlines in next year’s swimwear. There were ruffled skirtinis from Betsey Johnson Swimwear, embellished frilly triangle tops by Pistol Panties, bandeaus, soft ruffle-edged bikini bottoms and flouncy cover-ups.

But we almost died and went to swimwear heaven when we stumbled across this unbelievably sexy, Ann Margaret-inspired bikini stunner from local Miami designer, Alexis Barbara.

Check out the wooden pull-thru hardware detail on the neck tie.

The ruffled Sliding Triangle to is elegant, sexy and oh-so-prissy! And if you’re a little light in the cleavage department, ruffles add layers that help to fill you out. The long, strappy tie sides help make this gorgeous two piece a winner in our book.

And it’s definitely a winner on sexy model/actress (bottom left) Michelle Hunziker. She was spotted on Formentera Island wearing a similar version of the Barbara bikini.
